Its whale season again,and the staff at The Hermanus Esplanade are looking forward to welcoming our guests with warm whale waves. Hermanus is still one of the top 10 destinations in South-Africa and the specials we have at The Hermanus Esplanade enable you to still get away from it all despite the chilly economic climate. Speaking of chilly – chilly weather is in fact the best weather for whale watching and sightings of Southern Right Whales are increasing by the day!

As the weather gets colder on the shore in June, the ocean gets warmer. Great White Sharks LOVE warm water so it's also the perfect time for Great White Shark cage diving and viewing in Gansbaai (which is just around the corner).

The restaurants in Hermanus have started serving from their lovely winter menu's - so eating out will keep the chill at bay after an active day out. Remember that winter's here are relatively mild and Hermanus is delightfully entertaining for the whole family no matter what the weather.
